Export Heatmaps & Recordings from Crazy Egg to your AI tools
You can now export data for Heatmaps & Recordings to analyze in an AI tool of your choice: ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and more.
We do this by formatting your data in a JSON file, specifically designed to be AI-compatible. You can export this file from any individual Heatmap or Recording, and then upload it to your AI tool.
To access this AI-compatible data export:
- Heatmaps – From any Heatmap report, click the three dots in the top-right. Then click the “Export” button. You will see all the existing export options, alongside an option to “Yes, include a JSON file so it’s ready to use with AI”. Make sure this is selected, then click “Export Snapshot”.
- Recordings – While viewing the Recordings player, scroll down the right sidebar. Alongside the “Events” section, you will see a button for “📥 Export as JSON”. Click that button and the download will start automatically.
This AI-compatible export means you’re not limited to Crazy Egg’s AI capabilities when analyzing your data. With Crazy Egg helping to unlock your website data, you’ll always be able to access the most powerful models on the market at any given time.
And with the use of custom prompting, asking follow-up questions, and custom GPTs, you’ll be able to get flexible and personalized analysis for your data.

You’ll always have access to your AI-compatible JSON file after downloading it. So you can feel secure in the ownership of your data, whether or not you choose to continue using Crazy Egg.
